Life Skills CLASSES
Registered participants meet once per week for eight weeks with each class typically lasting for 1.5 hours. We offer our eight-week sessions in Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons. As participants progress through the Life Skills Experience levels (PLAYer, Par, Birdie, Eagle, Ace), they will be encouraged to discover the best version of themselves, both on and off the golf course. The First Tee uses golf to teach youth life lessons and leadership skills. Sessions include a fun, group setting for youth ages 7 to 17 regardless of background or previous experience. Teaming up with experts in positive youth development, The First Tee helps youth become good golfers and even better people.
For children ages 5-7 who are new to golf or the First Tee Program, we offer TARGET level classes. In Target level participants will be exposed to the driving range, chipping and pitching area, and putting. Fun games using SNAG equipment are also implemented into this level. There is no testing in the Target level. Once a participant is able to demonstrate various golf fundamentals as well as The First Tee Code of Conduct and is 7 years old, a First Tee of the Tri-Valley Coach will give a recommendation to move into the PLAYer level. The First Tee of the Tri-Valley offers fun filled camps during the year. We have a New Years Camp, Spring Break Camp, Summer Camps and Fall Golf Camp. These camps will introduce the fundamentals of the game of golf seamlessly integrated with The First Tee Nine Core Values and Healthy Habits with the primary goal of learning golf in a safe environment.
